About Bonnie STA014805
Beautiful Bonnie is an exceedingly polite young lady with an elegant charm and a wonderfully gentle nature. She can be nervous meeting new people and settling into unfamiliar surroundings, so she’ll need a patient family willing to give her the time and space she needs to feel safe. Once she begins to trust, her sweet personality starts to shine.
Bonnie gains a great deal of confidence from having a calm, steadfast feline companion and would love a friendly cat in her new home to show her the ropes. Despite being a shy girl, she is still a teenager at heart and has plenty of energy for playtime. She enjoys the company of other cats and will happily request cuddles, grooming sessions and games from her feline friend.
With her humans, Bonnie enjoys gentle pats around her head and neck and, when she’s feeling comfortable, is quite happy to enjoy a full-body pat too. She isn’t ready to be picked up just yet, but she is trusting, gentle and easily guided when needed. Her little voice is also still a work in progress – her "meow" is currently more of a determined exhale – but she makes up for it with plenty of adorable purrs and trills.
She has some very endearing habits. At mealtimes, Bonnie sometimes delicately fishes a few pieces of food from her bowl with her paw, brings them to her mouth and then carefully cleans her foot. A lady must have standards!
Bonnie is also rather clever. Hold a treat at around waist height and ask her "Up" and she’ll stand sweetly on her back legs. Ask her to "Spin" while circling a treat and around she goes! If dinner is taking a little too long, she may even perform a spontaneous spin to remind you to hurry things along.
While Bonnie can be skittish, everyday household noises generally don’t worry her too much. The great outdoors, however, is definitely not for her. During limited exposure to a controlled outdoor environment, she found the sounds, smells and wind frightening. Bonnie is very much an indoor-only girl, happiest surrounded by soft blankets, warm beds, heaters, toys, treats, good food and the companionship of those she loves.
Bonnie isn't a cat who will walk into a new home and immediately make herself comfortable. Give her time, patience and a reassuring feline friend, and you'll have the privilege of watching this gentle young lady blossom into the playful, affectionate and delightfully quirky cat she truly is.

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
