About Audre
Audre is a desexed female Domestic Short Hair available for adoption in Macleod (Melbourne, Victoria).
Audre is a cat who chooses her moments, and when she does, she makes them count.
She's independent enough to enjoy a sunny afternoon entirely on her own terms, and affectionate enough to close the distance and press right in against you when the mood strikes.
This is a cat with her own rhythm, and a lot of warmth for the household that fits into it.
A little about Audre:
🐾 Lights up at the first patch of afternoon sun and claims it as her own
🐾 Adores a proper wand-toy chase, fully locked in until the game's done
🐾 Rolls onto the floor in total delight when she's feeling close to you
🐾 Plays happily with everyone in the house, with a little extra closeness for her favourite person
🐾 A strikingly symmetrical black coat that always looks picture-perfect
Audre's days have an easy shape to them. Mornings mean sunshine, wherever she can find it. Afternoons bring out her playful side, especially with a wand toy in the mix.
By evening, she likes to be close by, often settling onto the end of the bed while her person works nearby, keeping half an eye on the room.
Audre gravitates toward calm, gentle energy and tends to settle on one favourite person as her closest attachment. That's the bonus though, not the whole story, she's genuinely playful and easygoing with everyone in the house.
New people get a slower welcome. She'll watch from a comfortable distance first. Give her that space and you'll find she comes forward in her own time, and once she's made up her mind about you, she keeps coming back.
Audre would love a home with safe outdoor access she can dip in and out of, and a cosy indoor base to come home to overnight.
She's easygoing around other animals, and gets on fine sharing her space with other cats or a calm dog.
Settling in is easiest when she's given room to explore in her own time, and from there, her steady rhythms take over.
Picture a sunbeam on the carpet, claimed and occupied for the afternoon.
A wand toy skittering across the floor, chased down with complete focus.
And an evening where she curls up at the end of the bed, keeping quiet company while the day winds down.
Audre is ready for the home where she gets to be exactly herself: sun-soaked afternoons, wand-toy chases, and all the affection she saves for the person who earns it.

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
