About Marvin
Marvin seems to have discovered his own little dinner rule: food tastes much better when someone is there giving him pats.
This gorgeous all-white boy can be a little shy when you first meet him. He might tuck himself underneath a pillow or find a cosy corner to hide in while he works out what's happening. Give him some gentle attention, though, and his sweet side starts to appear. Marvin will lean into pats and chin scratches, headbutt for affection and become much more comfortable having you around.
In fact, having a friendly human nearby seems to give Marvin a little extra confidence. Once he feels safe, he'll happily head over for something to eat while being patted. Stop the pats and he might pause his dinner too, only to start eating again once the affection resumes. It's a very cute little quirk and a lovely glimpse of how much reassurance this gentle boy gets from human company.
Marvin will appreciate a home that lets him settle in at his own pace, but he has already shown that underneath that initial shyness is a friendly boy who enjoys affection and seeks out interaction once he feels comfortable.
As an all-white cat, Marvin will need protection from prolonged sun exposure, particularly strong direct sunlight. He also has mild Grade 1 dental disease and will benefit from regular dental home care to help keep his teeth and gums healthy.
Come and meet Marvin at our North Melbourne shelter as soon as possible, as our cats cannot be placed on hold.
