About George
George has his priorities sorted: dinner first, pats immediately afterwards.
This lovely ginger boy is a calm, gentle character with a very healthy appreciation for food. Put a meal in front of him and George is completely committed to the task, even happily carrying on while getting a few pats at the same time. Once the bowl is empty, though, he's ready to turn his attention to you and enjoy some affection.
George was initially unsure when he arrived at the shelter. With time, treats and gentle attention, he has come a long way. He'll lean into pats, relax around people and show off his smoochy side when he's in the mood. He isn't an over-the-top attention seeker and seems quite content doing his own thing too, making him a lovely option for someone who wants an affectionate cat without needing a constant shadow.
George has mild Grade 1 dental disease, which is reversible with good dental home care to help keep his teeth healthy.
If your idea of a great housemate is a cute, chilled-out ginger boy who enjoys good food, good pats and a bit of independence, George might be just the one. Come and meet him at our North Melbourne shelter as soon as possible, as our cats cannot be placed on hold.
