Bridget Jones has been living on the street for several years. We don’t know whether she was born there or whether she once had guardians who eventually left her behind.

Despite everything she has been through, Bridget is a gentle girl. She can be picked up and accepts pats from her humans. 🩷

She is understandably terrified and quite shut down right now. After spending years surviving on the streets, she needs someone who will be patient, compassionate and willing to give her the time she needs to feel safe.

Bridget is currently healing after being desexed and is also recovering from mange and flea dermatitis.

Bridget is FIV Positive. She is a very gentle girl with other cats, and I’m comfortable with her living with other friendly, compatible cats. FIV is spread through deep bite wounds, rather than through normal day to day interactions. Most cat disagreements are just hissing, swatting and the occasional dramatic tantrum, rather than the kind of deep biting that would typically transmit FIV.

FIV is not contagious to humans or other species. It also doesn’t mean that she is constantly sick. Many FIV positive cats live long, happy lives. It can mean that if they do become unwell, their immune system may not respond quite as effectively, so infections or illnesses can sometimes take longer to resolve.

She really is such a gentle, lovely girl, and I’m not concerned about her being around other calm, friendly cats.

With time, love and a safe home, we hope she can finally discover what it feels like to be truly cared for. 🩷

While we do everything we can to give our cats the best possible start when they enter our care, we can never guarantee that a cat will remain healthy for life.

Cats, just like humans, can become unwell. Some medical conditions may be dormant and appear or flare up later in life, and sometimes illness happens despite everyone doing everything right.

Adopting a cat means committing to caring for them in sickness and in health. 🩷

Our commitment to you is to always be honest and upfront about any known health concerns and provide adopters with all the information available to us at the time of adoption.

🏡 Bridget Jones is strictly indoor only and will only be adopted to a home committed to keeping her safely indoors at all times.

A secure catio or fully enclosed outdoor space can be a wonderful way for Bridget to enjoy some fresh air and sunshine while remaining safe. 🌿🩷
