Adoption Fee: $650
Sparky is a friendly, playful big pup with a loving, gentle nature.
Sparky loves company and cuddles, and doesn't stray far from humans. He will thrive in a home with someone around most of the time, although he can tolerate human-free time especially if he has doggy company: Sparky would make an excellent second dog. He loves to play and nap with a large or medium sized companion dog, and if his future owner isn’t home full-time, another dog would give him the company he enjoys. He's an energetic pup who is eager to please and a quick learner, especially when treats are involved. Sparky is toilet trained, crate trained (extra large) for those structured times when resting/napping and to help reset when overtired. He does sometimes like to take socks and shoes, but this is mostly to lick, nibble, and sleep with them for their scent. A gentle redirection towards a chew toy is usually all he needs. Sparky is a well-behaved young boy, and clear and consistent boundaries along with socialisation, he will continue growing into a well-rounded adult dog.
Sparky loves plenty of daily exercise to stretch those long legs and use up his joyful energy. He will benefit from at least one good walk a day plus play. He is good on lead, has great recall and plays well at the dog park, enjoying a good run around with the other energetic dogs and pups.
Sparky is too interested in small fluffy animals, so rabbits and chooks are a no. He is fostered with a cat who he respects but does need careful monitoring.
lf you think this beautiful boy is a great match for your family and lifestyle, please follow the instructions above to apply.
Note that if renting, we may request proof of permission to keep a dog at your property. Please ensure that all members of your household are on board with adopting a pup before filling in an enquiry form, and consider your lifestyle, work hours, activity level, space, and the time you have to commit, before applying.
MEDICAL NOTES
Adoption fee includes vet check, flea and worm treatment, puppy vaccinations, microchip (including transfer of ownership) and sterilisation at 6 months at a STAR approved vet clinic. Sparky has some sunburn to his nose. While still young he should be protected from time in full sun to protect his little snout going forward.
ADOPTION DETAILS
Our adoption process includes a meet-and-greet with the chosen applicant (and any dog already in the household or who regularly stays at the home, along with their current vaccination card); a property check and a 2 week trial period to ensure the pup is the right fit for the home.
The adoption fee must be deposited electronically into our Second Tale Animal Rescue bank account in full before an adoption trial starts. STAR will arrange transfer of ownership on the pup's microchip once the trial period is completed.
To arrange sterilisation at 6 months old, a STAR approved vet clinic must be used. Adopters will be advised of the closest approved vet to their home.
Please ask us for more information on arranging sterilisation of a pup if you live outside the Bunbury area.
