Ruby is an absolute GEM! A well behaved girl who is happy and generally social. Ruby loves going in the car and visiting the beach. She’s a real water dog! She is happy co-existing with her foster sister who is an old Labrador but ideally she would prefer to be the only dog. Ruby can take exception to some dogs if they try to assert themselves upon her, or if they take toys from her. In her previous home Ruby lived happily with a cat.
Ruby is clever and knows basic obedience. She is not showing any signs of slowing down in her senior years and is in good health and fitness, behaving like a much younger dog. She is housetrained and enjoys getting up on the couch for a snooze. Ruby has mostly lived in an only female household so does take a day or so to warm up to any male humans in the home, but she has been friendly with people she has met when out and about. Ruby likes her toys and has some favourites. Ruby is a straightforward example of a German Shepherd and would suit an active retirement with people who enjoy good long walks and can give her the active lifestyle she deserves.

Our adoption process includes a two week trial period to ensure you and your adopted pet are the right fit. Successful applicants will be contacted for an interview and a property inspection (as it is vital we rehome our animals to a safe, secure and suitable home).

The adoption fee of $450 assists to cover the costs of desexing, microchip, microchip ownership transfer, flea and worm treatment, vaccinations, and vet check.
