About Charlie Churo
Meet Charlie Churo - a soft-hearted, gentle girl who has waited longer than any cat should have to wait for someone to choose her.
Charlie spent 240 long days in a shelter, quietly hoping someone would see past the kennel and fall in love with her. Unbelievably, no one did. When the shelter staff reached out and asked if we could help, we didn’t think twice. The moment we brought her into foster care, it was clear she was ready for a real home and real love.
She was a little shy at first - completely understandable after so many months of uncertainty - but that shyness didn’t last long. Once Charlie feels safe, her true personality shines through, and it is pure sweetness. She is incredibly affectionate and incredibly loving. She seeks out gentle contact, presses her face into your hand for pats, and offers soft, trusting head boops that melt your heart every time.
She doesn’t just tolerate affection, she leans into it, as if she’s been saving it up and is finally ready to give it all away.
Charlie is the kind of cat who wants to be near you. She moves with a calm, unhurried grace and settles close, happy just to share space and quiet moments. There’s a deep gentleness in the way she interacts, no sharp edges, no demands, just a steady, loving presence.
She’s the definition of a ball of unconditional fluffy love: soft, patient, and ready to pour affection into whoever is lucky enough to claim her.
We don’t yet know how she is with other cats, dogs, or young children, as her previous life didn’t give her those opportunities. But given how gentle and easy-going she is, we believe she would settle beautifully into the right home with thoughtful introductions.
Charlie Churo has already shown us how much love she has to give. Now she’s simply waiting for someone who will give that love right back.
If you’re looking for a quiet companion who will greet you with soft head bumps, curl up close, and fill your days with steady, heartfelt affection, Charlie might just be the one you’ve been searching for.
Charlie Churo is approximately 3 years old, has been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and is located with her amazing foster mum in Mernda.
Please reach out if you're interested. She’s ready whenever you are.
About Us
Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.
Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.
Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.
As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.
All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.
Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
How You Can Help

We are always in need of foster carers. If you have a safe, loving temporary home and would like to help us care for a cat on their journey to their forever family, please get in touch. The more foster homes we have, the more cats we can save.

Adoption details
We try to make things very easy and straight forward while at the same time making sure we are matching the right cat to the right home.
The first step in the adoption process is a quick chat over the phone to make you are able meet the cats needs and your home is a good fit for the cats personality.
From there we will organize a meet and greet the cats foster home where you will be able to see the cat in action and get a gauge of their personality.
Once you have adopted you new furry feline friend we offer ongoing support and you are welcome to contact us anytime if you have questions, concerns or need advice.
We work hard to make sure that each cat is a good fit for their new home but in the unlikely even that things do not work out we have a 21 day cooling off period and you are more than welcome to return the cat to us during that time.
We will happily refund 50% of the adoption fee or you are welcome to donate this refund to assist with the ongoing cost of the animals care.
