Meet Skittles, a handsome 6.5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier looking for a loving new home.

Skittles came into care following the sudden passing of his owner and is now searching for a family who can provide him with the stability, understanding and companionship he deserves.
A sweet-natured and affectionate boy, Skittles enjoys spending time with his people and will benefit from ongoing training, enrichment and support as he settles into his new environment.
Like many dogs, Skittles can find the shelter environment overwhelming at times and has recently commenced fluoxetine to help manage his anxiety. His adopters should be prepared to continue this treatment under the guidance of their veterinarian and support him as he adjusts to life in a home. Given time, patience and consistency, we expect Skittles to continue building confidence in a more predictable environment.
Potential adopters should also be aware that Skittles has a skin tag associated with one of his nipples. While it is not currently causing him any issues, ongoing monitoring by his veterinarian is recommended.
If you're looking for a loyal companion and are willing to provide a supportive home where Skittles can thrive, he may be the perfect addition to your family.
Skittles weighs 31kg.
