🐾 Meet Missy — A Gentle Soul Looking for Her Forever Home 🐾

Missy is a gorgeous Jack Russell x Fox Terrier, almost 10½ years old, and she is one of those special dogs who simply melts your heart. ❤️

With her beautiful, peaceful nature, Missy is placid, quiet, polite and incredibly easy-going. She doesn’t ask for much from life — just a warm bed, a safe backyard and a loving human to share her golden years with.

Missy gets along well with other dogs and is wonderfully gentle and relaxed. She enjoys having a little stroll around the backyard, but given the choice, she would much rather curl up on a fluffy bed or snuggle beside her favourite human on the couch. 🥰

She is also a very quiet girl who doesn’t bark, making her an especially lovely companion for someone looking for a calm and peaceful dog.

Missy is an easy eater too. Although she doesn’t have many teeth left, she still thoroughly enjoys her meals. She currently enjoys a few chicken necks each day, small-grain kibble for breakfast and a healthy home-cooked meal for dinner. And, of course, a little piece of cheese every now and then is always very much appreciated! 🧀❤️

Missy does have some arthritis in her back legs, particularly her right leg, and she is currently receiving injections to help manage this. Once she has completed her initial four-course treatment, she will need an injection approximately every three months to help keep her comfortable and mobile.

At this stage of her life, Missy would make a wonderful companion for a retiree or someone who enjoys a quiet, relaxed lifestyle and would love having a gentle little dog by their side.

Missy doesn’t need a fancy life.
She doesn’t need endless adventures.
She doesn’t ask for much at all.

She just wants a comfortable bed, a secure backyard, a safe and loving home, and a human who is committed to giving her the very best care throughout her golden years. 🩷

4. Do you currently have any other animals living with you?
If so, please provide details about each animal, including their species, age, breed and personality, and how they generally interact with other animals.

5. Do you have previous experience with Missy’s breed? If not, have you done thorough research into the breed, including its temperament, exercise needs, grooming, training and potential health requirements?

6. Are you familiar with the long-term responsibilities of dog ownership, including training, socialisation, exercise and ongoing care? Are you willing to give Missy the time, patience and support she needs to settle into her new home?

7. How many hours will Missy be left alone on a typical day? Who will be responsible for caring for her during your working hours, absences, holidays or other periods when you are unable to be with her?

8. Are you financially and practically prepared to provide Missy with quality veterinary care, preventative healthcare, grooming and nutritious food throughout her lifetime?

9. Will Missy be considered a member of your family and primarily live indoors, with appropriate access to a secure backyard/outdoor area? Please describe where Missy will sleep and how she will be accommodated overnight.

10. If your circumstances change in the future and you are no longer able to care for Missy, do you agree to contact PFPRI and seek our assistance before making any arrangements to surrender, rehome her?
