🧡 MEET FRED 🧡
Fred is a sweet, affectionate ginger-and-white gentleman with a big heart, big beady eyes, and by his foster carer’s estimation, approximately one orange brain cell. And really, that’s part of his charm.
Once Fred knows you’re a kind and gentle human, he gives his affection wholeheartedly. He is an absolute lap cat who loves nothing more than curling up on his favourite person, receiving pats and cuddles, and gazing lovingly into your eyes while you tell him what a handsome boy he is. If he decides he needs some extra attention, he’ll happily rub his head against you or settle in beside you until you get the hint.
Fred is curious, playful and wonderfully silly. He enjoys chasing moving toys—even if his catching skills are still a work in progress—and is very easily entertained. He’s also food motivated and has already shown great potential with clicker training, proudly learning how to sit!
When he isn’t playing or soaking up attention, Fred takes his other great passion very seriously: sleeping. A sunny patch, a soft cushion or, preferably, a human lap are all excellent choices. He’s settled beautifully into an indoor routine and is a quiet little gentleman overnight, happily snoozing when his humans do.
Fred can sometimes be startled by loud or unfamiliar noises, but he recovers quickly and looks to his trusted humans for reassurance. He would likely do well in a home with older children, particularly with plenty of people around to shower him with the attention he loves. A home with younger children is unlikely to be the best fit for Fred.
Fred would be perfectly happy as a solo cat, soaking up all the love and attention for himself. He is also cat social and could happily join a household with another friendly resident cat, following appropriate introductions.
Above all, Fred is an incredibly lovable, slightly goofy and affectionate boy with all the classic charm of a ginger cat. He’s looking for a home where he can feel safe, be adored, and—most importantly—always have somewhere cosy to snooze. 🧡

Adoption details
All animals adopted through Out of the Woods Rescue are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea/worm treated and health-checked. We aim to match each animal with a home that suits their needs and personality.
Here’s how our adoption process works:
Submit an application – This helps us get to know you, your household and what you're looking for in a pet.
Phone chat – If your application looks like a potential fit, one of our team members will contact you for a casual phone conversation to answer questions and discuss the animal in more detail.
Meet and greet – You’ll meet the animal in their foster home or another agreed location. If everyone agrees it’s a good match, we can proceed to adoption.
Adoption paperwork and payment – Our adoption fees cover desexing, microchipping, vaccination and parasite treatment.
Once adopted, the animal becomes part of your family. We're still here for post-adoption support if you ever need any help.
We’re committed to ethical adoptions and reserve the right to decline applications if we feel the match isn’t in the best interest of the animal.
