Otis

Otis might spend the first few moments wondering whether he can trust you, but give him a reason to say yes and suddenly you've got a headbutting machine on your hands.

Coming to us as a stray with no identification, we don't know what Otis experienced before arriving in our care. Understandably, he can be unsure when something or someone is unfamiliar, and the shelter environment hasn't always been easy for him. But underneath that uncertainty is a lovely boy who has shown us again and again that he genuinely enjoys human company once he feels safe.

With a gentle approach, Otis quickly starts to soften. He'll lean into pats, purr, bunt his head enthusiastically into your hand and lift his little rear for more scratches. Once comfortable, his curious side comes out too. He enjoys having a look around and exploring his surroundings rather than spending all his time tucked away. Those moments give us a wonderful glimpse of the confident, affectionate boy he could become in a home of his own.

Otis would benefit from patient people who understand that he may need a little time to feel secure in a new environment. He should be kept safely indoors, where he can explore to his heart's content without the risks of wandering outside. Give him somewhere calm to settle, plenty of affection when he asks for it and the freedom to build confidence at his own pace, and we think there's a very lovely companion waiting to emerge.
