About Sibylla
Bunny may be scared of the world right now, but underneath all that uncertainty is a very smoochy girl who seems to desperately want to be brave.
Bunny came to us as a stray with no identification, so we don't know what life looked like for her before arriving in our care. The shelter has understandably been overwhelming, and she often chooses to hide when things feel like too much. But spend some quiet time with Bunny and something incredibly sweet starts to happen. Offer her gentle pats and chin scratches and she begins to soften, leaning into your hand, purring away and making little biscuits with her paws.
Sometimes Bunny will come forward for affection, become unsure and move away, only to gather her courage and come right back for more. It can look a little awkward while she figures out what feels safe, but the message is pretty clear: this girl really loves affection. Even through her nerves, she has been head bumping, kneading, rubbing and seeking out scratches. Every time she chooses to come back is another little glimpse of the loving cat waiting underneath.
Bunny doesn't need a busy home or someone expecting her to be confident overnight. She needs kind, patient people who will give her somewhere peaceful to settle, let her take things at her own pace and show her that she doesn't need to be afraid anymore. Watching this gentle girl learn that she is safe, and seeing those nervous little approaches turn into confident requests for cuddles, could be something very special.
Bunny is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to Bunny - or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
