Hermes is one of four boys from our Typewriter Litter, a litter of five Kelpie × German Shepherd mix puppies. Their only sister, Olympia, is already spoken for, leaving the boys looking for homes of their own.

Hermes is a lovely, placid and affectionate pup who enjoys being around people and is very happy to soak up some attention. He has a playful side too, as every puppy should, but there is an appealing steadiness about him that makes him a particularly nice young dog to spend time with.

At 9.2 kgs, Hermes is already a substantial youngster and we expect him to mature into a medium-to-large dog, although his eventual size will become clearer as he grows.

With Kelpie and German Shepherd behind him, Hermes is likely to be intelligent, loyal and very trainable. He will need a family prepared to put time into his education while he is young, with plenty of positive experiences, kind training and appropriate outlets for both his brain and his energy.

Like all young puppies, Hermes will need guidance with the usual puppy basics, including toilet training, lead walking, manners and learning how the household works.

A Kelpie × German Shepherd is not a mix for someone wanting a dog who can simply entertain himself in the backyard. Hermes will do best with people who want an involved companion and who are prepared to help this affectionate, good-natured boy grow into the capable adult dog he has every chance of becoming.

❤️ Deferred Desexing Program

As Hermes is still too young to be desexed, he will be adopted under ARK’s Deferred Desexing Program. Desexing is covered by the adoption fee, subject to the terms and conditions of ARK’s Deferred Desexing Puppy Adoption Contract. The adopter will be required to prevent Hermes from breeding and ensure that he is desexed on or before 10 March 2027, when he is nine months old, or later by negotiation.
