About Geordie
Meet Geordie!
Geordie is a sweet boy who will reward your patience with lots of love and trust. He will need some time to get used to his new home as he has struggled with anxiety, and will need to go home with some medication to keep him comfortable and stress-free. Don't worry, our team will provide all the guidance and information needed to keep him happy, healthy, and thriving.
Underneath his anxiety at the shelter, Geordie is an incredibly lovely boy who just wants to be with his people and dish out all the love he has to give. Geordie's ideal home would be active and willing to support him with his ongoing training, impulse control and confidence building. This young guy's got plenty of energy to get out! He's very intelligent and is likely to respond well to training, especially as he learns to walk nicely on the lead and use his manners.
Geordie would prefer to be the only dog in the home, as he can become quite overwhelmed when around other dogs. Initially, his adopters should focus on helping him calmly ignore other dogs while out on walks and teaching him to redirect his attention back to them. Once he's settled and feeling secure in his new home, he would benefit from gradual, positive introductions to unfamiliar dogs to help him build confidence at his own pace.
Because he's still quite a jumpy, energetic young man, he would be suitable to go home with secondary school aged children and above.
If you think Geordie could be a great fit for your home, come down to our North Melbourne location to meet him! Please bring all family members to the meet.
