ABOUT RANGER
Meet Ranger, formerly known by his racing name, Apache Malt—a really happy, delightful Greyhound with a heart as big as his gentle nature. Born on April 22, 2021, Ranger has fast become the charmer of Malanda, known for his friendliness and amiable disposition. From the moment you meet him, you'll find that Ranger embodies a unique blend of playfulness and affection, making him wonderful company, always eager to greet visitors with enthusiasm, as if reuniting with long-lost friends.
Ranger is a social butterfly in the dog world, but don’t let his size intimidate you—Ranger is gentle, especially when it comes to other pets. His interactions with small dogs are playfully respectful, and his behavior with cats is commendable, making him a great addition to homes with multiple types of pets. Although he hasn't yet been tested with birds, his respectful nature suggests he could adjust well in a home with various animals. He would be best suited to a home with a larger dog though because his playful nature, bow play and big feet could intimidate or even unintentionally injure a very small dog. Preference will be given to a home that can provide Ranger with a playmate of similar energy level. Now that sounds like he's over active but it's quite the opposite. Like most Greyhounds, he has his short zoomie times but most of the time, he'll just laze around.
One of Ranger's greatest joys is playing ball, showing off his playful energy while making sure he never leaves his delicate touch behind—he’s known to take treats from your hand ever so carefully. When it's time to relax, Ranger loves nothing more than to gather his toys and peacefully lounge on your couch, adding coziness and warmth to your home.
Ranger has been desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for fleas, ticks, and worms, plus he's heartworm negative. He's fully house-trained and ready to settle in with the right family who can offer a property with dog-proof fencing, in line with keeping wildlife safe. Please email your phone number or email address for details about our adoption process.
We insist that our kittens and cats are adopted into indoor only homes unless otherwise stated. Enclosures attached to the house for sun baking are encouraged. Our dogs and puppies new homes must be securely fenced. Property inspections may be required. We also ensure that all our pets are desexed before they leave our care which is normally at 10 weeks of age for kittens and 12 weeks for puppies.
