Introducing Puddles
Puddles got his name for the sweetest reason — when his carer first spotted him on the fringe of a colony, he was busy drinking from a puddle. She saw something special in this shy little boy and knew he deserved the chance at a better life. And so, Puddles’ journey to a better life began.
Puddles is super shy and he is going to need someone who understands that trust doesn’t happen overnight. He needs a patient and gentle person who will give him the time and space to settle in without expecting too much too soon.
His carer says Puddles is very food motivated which is a wonderful little advantage when it comes to winning his trust! With patience, yummy treats and lots of gentle encouragement, Puddles will eventually take that brave little leap from “I’m not sure about you” to “Hey… you’re actually not that bad!”
One of the most rewarding things about caring for a timid cat is that moment when something changes. The day they finally see you in a different light. The day they come forward instead of hiding. The day they seek you out and in their own quiet way return the love you’ve given them.
Timid cats are often the last to find homes. They can wait the longest while people choose the confident, outgoing cats who immediately steal the show. But these quiet little souls deserve a chance too — a chance to live without fear, in a safe, warm and loving home where they can learn that people can be trusted.

Puddles is in foster care in Emu Heights, Western Sydney.
And, on the off chance you are looking to adopt two junior cats, Puddles’ sibling Paddy is also waiting patiently for his forever home.

Adoption details
STUFF YOU NEED TO KNOW: I will come desexed, vaccinated (1st F3) and microchipped and will have up to date worm and flea treatments.
ADOPTING ME: You must be able to provide me with a loving long term and safe home. I would be fine in an apartment as long as I didn't have free run of the balcony if it wasn't fully enclosed. Please ensure your house or apartment can contain a cat inside (ie fly screens etc).
Please remember that I have thought seriously about taking you on and when you take me home, I am committing to you for life. So, I hope you have thought seriously about this and are likewise planning on committing to me.
ABOUT YOU: Given you know all about me, my foster parents would like to know something about who my new parents are going to be. They have rescued me and have given me a lot of care and love. I know they love me and therefore want the best for me.
ABOUT US: AWL Western Suburbs branch wants to promote adoptions of cats from our foster carers & pounds. If you would like to help us, please feel free to contact us and find out how you may assist, including being a foster parent.
All adoptions will require a Pre-adoption application form completed and returned prior to a meet & greet with our cats. Please note that several people may be applying for the same cat so we need time to review all applicants. We do not re-home to the first to apply, we re-home to who best suits the needs of the cat or kitten. All applications will be considered individually and approval will be at the discretion of the AWL NSW Branch Representative, with their decision being final.
