About Rusty
Hi! I’m Rusty, a young Red Heeler with plenty of energy, a big personality and a whole lot of potential.
I’m a very fit, active boy, and I’m looking for a human who wants a dog to really do life with. I think I’d absolutely thrive on a farm or rural property where I could have a job, follow my person around and feel like I’m part of everything that’s going on.
Just so we’re clear though — I haven’t had any stock training or experience, so I’m not arriving ready to work your sheep or cattle! What I am is incredibly attentive and responsive to people. I listen to direction, I’m keen to learn and, most importantly, I really want to please you. Give me some time and consistent training and I have the potential to be a fantastic dog.
My training has already started. I’m working on my basic commands, lead manners and learning that sometimes the best thing a busy Heeler can do is simply be calm and settle. I’m making progress, but I’ll need my new person to keep teaching me.
I’m a people dog. ❤️ I really enjoy human company and have a particular soft spot for the blokes! I’ve also lived with children previously without any issues.
When it comes to other dogs, I need the right match. I could potentially live with a confident, well-balanced dog who is comfortable setting boundaries with me. Otherwise, I’d be perfectly happy starting out as your only dog while you continue working on my training and social skills.
I’m also pretty good at managing some downtime. I’m crate trained, I’m comfortable being on my own in my crate or a secure dog pen, and I don’t have any concerns with travelling in the car.
What I really need now is someone who has the time to invest in me.
If you’re confident, consistent and willing to keep teaching me, I’ll give you plenty back. I want to listen. I want to learn. I want to be involved.
Most of all, I want a person to work alongside and a purpose of my own.
I’m desexed and vaccinated and ready to start my next chapter.
If you’ve been looking for a smart, active young Heeler with loads of potential, maybe I’m your boy.
Love, Rusty 🐾❤️
