Delta came to us from a colony where every day was about survival, so arriving in a completely new environment surrounded by unfamiliar people was understandably a little overwhelming for her.
Initially a very nervous girl, Delta has been quietly surprising us. With time, patience and plenty of gentle encouragement, we've watched a beautiful side of her slowly emerge. Each day she gives us another little glimpse of the sweetheart hiding underneath those cautious beginnings, and it has been wonderful watching her confidence grow.
One thing that really brings Delta out of her shell is playtime! This girl has plenty of energy and absolutely loves getting involved when the toys come out. She's also quite the little conversationalist and enjoys having a chat once she's feeling comfortable.
Delta seems to enjoy the company of other cats, and we feel a friendly, confident feline companion could be wonderful for her. A feline friend could help show Delta the ropes, build her confidence and teach her just how good life in a loving home can be.
Her perfect family will understand that trust isn't something Delta can give overnight. She needs a quiet, patient home with no children or canines, and most importantly, someone willing to continue the work we've started — gently building her confidence and allowing their relationship to develop at her pace.
Delta has already come such a long way. With patience, playtime, love and perhaps a confident feline friend by her side, we think this once-worried colony girl has every chance of blossoming into a truly wonderful companion.

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
