With his beautiful green eyes, magnificent long ginger coat and a mane that would make most lions jealous, Henry is one seriously impressive gentleman. He certainly has the looks of a confident king of the jungle, but underneath all that glorious fluff is actually a rather shy and sensitive soul.
Henry needs a little time to get to know new people and find his feet in unfamiliar surroundings. He isn't the kind of fellow who will immediately throw himself into the arms of a stranger. Give him the space to settle, allow him to approach life at his own pace, and you'll soon begin to discover the lovely gentleman hiding beneath that magnificent mane.
At times Henry can become a little overstimulated, so he is looking for a cat-savvy human who understands feline body language and knows when he's saying, "That's enough for now, thank you!" Someone who can recognise his signals, respect his boundaries and allow him some space when he needs it will be the perfect match.
Henry isn't just a handsome face — he's a sensitive fellow looking for someone willing to take the time to understand him. With patience, respect and a home where he can settle at his own pace, this gentle lion can finally relax, rule his kingdom and enjoy being the magnificent gentleman he was born to be.

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
