Beautiful Ginger is an older kitten with a gentle nature and plenty of charm. She can be a little hesitant when meeting new people or finding herself in unfamiliar surroundings, but thankfully it doesn't take her long to settle in, make herself comfortable and start showing off her lovely personality.
Once she feels at home, Ginger is an easy-going young lady who is happy to take life as it comes. She may even enjoy sharing her forever home with a confident, friendly feline companion — someone to keep her company, build her confidence and, possibly help her get into a little bit of mischief!
Ginger has been with us from the very beginning. She was born here at CPS after her mum arrived in the very late stages of pregnancy, so we've had the pleasure of watching her grow into the beautiful girl she is today.
Ginger was born with a condition called distichia, which simply means she has some extra eyelashes growing from her upper eyelids that touch the surface of her eyes. To keep her eyes comfortable, Ginger needs artificial tears twice a day. Her condition has remained stable throughout the five months she has been with us, with no signs of it worsening.
Her ongoing care is very manageable, and one of our vets would be more than happy to chat with Ginger's potential new family, explain her condition and answer any questions.
Ginger is ready to leave the nest and start the next chapter of her life. With a little time to find her feet, a loving home and perhaps a feline partner in crime, this gorgeous girl will soon be making herself right at home.

Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
