About Carlo
Hello there! I'm Carlo, and I'm officially accepting applications for my forever family.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR CARLO
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/m9WFs6txdhVr4G1HA
Please Note: You'll only be able to meet Carlo if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well
General:
• Familiarity and understanding of my breed traits would be highly valued.
• I'll need daily exercise - walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• I am a working breed and do require more exercise and mental stimulation than other breeds.
• Ongoing training and guidance with basic manners will help me grow into a well-behaved companion.
• I want to be part of the family indoors - not left outside without interaction.
• Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• I'd love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• Most importantly, I'm looking for lots of love and attention from my family.
• When I get excited, I can be a little bouncy and mouthy, so any children in the home would need to be over 5 yrs of age and feel comfortable and confident around an energetic, enthusiastic dog joining the family.
• I absolutely LOVE water and would be thrilled to have my own clam pool to splash and relax in.
• Socialisation is just as important as training. Taking me to new places, introducing me to all sorts of people, dogs, and other animals will help me grow into a confident, well-adjusted dog.
• Training, training, training - it's essential that I receive consistent guidance in every aspect of my life so I can become the very best companion as I mature.
Dog Compatibility:
• I'd love a friendly dog playmate to keep me company when my family isn't home, I am very playful so a dog that can match my energy and playfulness would be ideal - or, if I'm your only dog, regular opportunities to socialise with other dogs (I am not the kind of dog that can be left alone in a backyard all day everyday without interaction)
• A home without small dogs would be best for me.
• I enjoy the company of friendly male and female dogs.
Cat / small animal:
• A home without cats/ small animals would be best for me, as I'm likely to chase/herd them.
Perks:
• I'm a very playful, happy pup with the cutest little wiggle-butt when I'm excited.
• I'm highly food motivated, which makes training lots of fun and helps me learn quickly.
• I know my basic commands like sit and I'm always eager to learn more.
• I walk nicely on lead for a young dog, and with daily walks I'll only keep improving.
• I'm very social and happy to hang out with other friendly dogs - total social butterfly!
• I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I'm quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
• I LOVE toys - especially my ball! Fetch and tug-of-war are some of my favourite games.
• I'm exuberant and full of beans, always ready for fun and adventure.
• I adore water and will happily splash in my pool, chase the hose, or take a swim in a basin or river.
• I'm clever, enthusiastic, and would thrive with a family who'll continue my training and maybe even teach me some cool new tricks.
Training:
• I can be a little bouncy/ mouthy when excited which is typical of my breed, but consistent training will help me learn calmer behaviours.
