Meet Sadie, a graceful 8-year-old silver tabby girl with soft grey stripes, luminous green eyes, and a quiet confidence that says she knows exactly who she is.

She is looking for her forever indoor home where she can settle in at her own pace and rule the manor in true feline style.

Sadie is a gentle, independent soul who shows her love in the most beautiful and understated ways. She isn’t a lap cat who demands constant cuddles or prolonged petting, and that is part of her charm. Instead, she offers the deep, steady companionship of simply choosing to be near you.

Once she feels safe, she is happiest sharing the same room, quietly keeping you company while you work, relax, or watch TV. That calm presence is her special brand of affection, and those who appreciate it discover just how loving she truly is.

She has a playful, sweet side that shines through once trust is built. Sadie adores chasing the red laser dot and will happily engage in gentle play sessions.

Her personality is soft and thoughtful. Give her time and space, and you’ll be rewarded with the lovely character that emerges when she feels secure.

She was originally rescued from Lort Smith at around three years of age. Her past before that is unknown, which may explain her thoughtful, cautious nature. She does find vet visits stressful, so a patient, understanding veterinary team is helpful.

Her current person is relocating for work in four weeks and, with a heavy heart, cannot take her along. We are helping rehome Sadie so she can find a quiet, respectful forever home before the move.

Sadie’s ideal home would be a calm, indoor-only household where she can enjoy the occasional gentle balcony breeze while remaining very much a homebody. She thrives with people who understand that affection doesn’t always mean hugs, sometimes it simply means respecting her boundaries and letting her decide when she’s ready to come closer.

A stable environment is important to her, as she bonds more strongly with place than with constant handling and prefers not to move between locations frequently. She has had limited positive exposure to dogs and may do okay with one, though other cats are uncertain and likely not preferred.

Sadie is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, in good health and located with her cat-dad Lee in Brunswick East.

About Us

Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.

Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.

Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.

As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.

All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.

Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
