About Jett
♥Meet Jett♥
Jett is a handsome, friendly and fun 8 month old Kelpie x Border Collie boy. His motto in life is 'A stranger is just a new friend I haven't met yet'! He is a very affectionate boy.
He is on the slightly taller side of his breeds, with long lanky legs, but still weighs in at a lean 21kgs. Jett travels well in a car, walks well on lead and has pretty great recall. He settles in a crate for down time periods during the day and sleeps soundly in there overnight. He is toilet trained and a good eater. He is still a bit of a clumsy, goofy teenager which does provide a lot of chuckles for his foster fam.
Jett was surrendered due to being unhappy when left alone all day by himself. On occasion he would hear the neighbours next door and get through the adjoining fence to go find them for company. Although this hasn't been an issue in foster care, it would still be best for Jett to join a home where his humans are around majority of the time, or a home that had raised dog kennels or enclosed pen to ensure he was safely contained if being left alone for a long periods.
Jett would love a home with some acres to stretch his legs and to perform his daily bum-low-to-the-ground silly mad zoomies! He would make a fantastic farm companion and be in his element simply helping all day. He is untested around livestock but has ignored sheep from a distance.
Jett loves other dogs but his bubbly enthusiasm is a sometimes a little much for calm, cruisy dogs that enjoy some standard space and boundaries. He follows his foster sibling Kelpie pals around and hovers close by begging them to play. He gets told off by them multiple times a day but this does not dampen his joyful spirit. He never retaliates and is always submissive. Best describe as the awkward kid in class trying to impress everyone and they keep responding with a 'Dude chill. Just be cool man'. Bless him! A bossy female is likely his best match, and one that will need to get used to having a big shadow follow them around! Jett is also perfectly suited to a solo dog home if his humans worked from home or he could join them during the workday.
If you love a big sooky, silly sweetheart that adores getting in close for a cuddle and stares lovingly into your eyes - Jett is your guy!!
