About Kynan
This ball of cuteness is full of love. Kynan will be your best buddy and will be attached at the hip, following you around and thoroughly enjoying your company.
He is a calm boy who loves the outdoors. He enjoys the simple pleasures in life, like basking in the sun or sniffing around the garden.
Kynan does not like other dogs and prefers human company. Because of this, he will be looking for a home where he can be the only dog.
His breed also presents some health issues such as breathing difficulties and indigestion that will likely need ongoing care.

Kynan's breed presents some health concerns that will likely need ongoing care and attention. At this stage, it is of no great concern and will likely just need to be monitored and require regular vet checks.
Below is some more information on his condition.
BOAS (or Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome) stems from many decades of selective breeding to produce dogs with the popular flat-face appearance, which has led to health problems.
This means that due to the animal having a flat-face and shortened skull results in abnormal anatomy of the upper airways. Brachycephalic dogs typically have narrowed nostrils, overly-long soft palates and excessive tissue around the larynx (in the throat) and within the nasal cavity. The trachea (windpipe) can also be very narrow.
As a result of their anatomy and narrowed airways, dogs that have BOAS means their airways are physically obstructed which causes breathing difficulties.
Symptoms of BOAS in Dogs
- Snoring
- Loud/difficult breathing
- Reduced ability to exercise
- Poor tolerance to heat
- Trouble sleeping (sleep apnoea)
- Digestive problems, such as regurgitation and vomiting
It is important to keep an eye out for any of these signs and understand that if they are of any concerns to see your vet.

If you are interested in adoption one of our advertised animals, please contact us on 48681520 where we can discuss suitability and arrange a time to meet in person.
Our adoption process for dogs and cats involves filling out an application which can be obtained when you visit the shelter to view the animals. At least 24 hours after the application is received, it will be reviewed by our Team Leader and staff to discuss suitability.
If your application has been successful we will give you a call and arrange a time for collection.
If you are interested in any of our pets, your best option is to call us on 4868 1520 during opening hours (10am to 4pm Mon-Fri, 10am to 12pm Sat-Sun), or leave a message with phone number so we can return your call. Appointments are required for all people looking to visit the shelter.
*Please Note* That all animals have to be collected from the shelter in Moss Vale we unfortunately do not have any transport available.
