About Jasper - In foster Care in Templestowe
Meet Jasper 🐾💛
Jasper has been places. He has seen some things. He’s been through more than any cat should have to endure, but these days, there’s really only one thing on his wish list: a warm lap, a comfy couch and someone to call his own.🥹
Jasper is approximately 90% couch potato and 10% action hero. Well… in his mind. In reality, he’s more of a drunk panda on rollerblades. 😂🐼🛼
He absolutely loves a little game, and he brings 100% enthusiasm to the occasion, even if his energy levels and coordination don’t quite get the memo. Mostly, though, Jasper is happiest lounging on the couch, snuggling in bed, enjoying a tasty treat and receiving the occasional very important ear massage. ❤️
Jasper arrived at Maneki Neko in absolutely terrible condition, but with the very best medical care, plenty of love and a whole lot of determination, he has come an incredibly long way. He has taken every treatment, medication and surgery in his stride and has been an absolute gentleman through it all.
Despite everything he’s been through, Jasper is a sweet, gentle soul who seems quite unphased by other cats. He has also met small dogs while in foster care.
Now, Jasper is ready for the best chapter yet: his happily ever after.🏡💕
If your idea of a perfect evening involves a couch, a cosy blanket, some snacks and a cat-shaped hot water bottle who occasionally demands an ear massage, Jasper might just be your guy.
Could you be Jasper’s forever person? 🐱💛

Medical notes
Jasper first came into care after suffering internal and external injuries from a dog attack. Thankfully, he has recovered very well from these injuries. He required surgery for a hip injury sustained during the attack and is now comfortable, active and has good mobility.
Jasper has asthma, currently managed with oral steroid medication. He is slowly being trained to use an inhaler and spacer, with the aim of managing his asthma this way and weaning him off oral medication.
Jasper has a heart murmur, which an echocardiogram has revealed is associated with mild mitral and tricuspid valve regurgitation, along with changes that may represent early hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). He currently requires no heart medication, with annual heart ultrasounds recommended for monitoring.
