Meet Silas, a truly handsome little gentleman with the softest white coat, the gentlest eyes, and a face that melts hearts the moment you see him.

Silas came to us from a shelter where he was really struggling. The busy, noisy environment was simply overwhelming for him, so the staff reached out hoping someone could give him a quieter, kinder start. Fortunately we had an experienced foster carer nearby who opened her home, and Silas left that scary place behind forever.

We were expecting a very shy, cautious little boy who would need weeks (or even months) to feel safe. Instead, Silas has completely surprised us all. From the very first day he has been incredibly affectionate - soft, trusting, and full of gentle love. He settled in with astonishing speed and is now fully part of the tribe.

Silas is an absolute snuggle bug. He seeks out affection constantly and thrives on it. He will happily curl up against you, lean into every stroke, and make the softest little sounds of contentment. At night he naturally claims a spot on his foster mum’s bed, tucking himself in close and sleeping soundly knowing he is safe and loved.

What makes Silas even more special is how deeply he loves other cats. He spends most of his waking hours (and plenty of his sleeping ones) curled up tightly with one of the resident male cats. They groom each other endlessly - long, slow, doting sessions that leave both of them looking thoroughly spoiled and blissfully happy.
Silas seems to draw so much comfort and confidence from these feline friendships. He lights up around other cats in a way that is truly beautiful to watch.

Because of this strong bond, we believe Silas was likely a colony cat in his early life. That background has given him a natural ease and joy around other felines that is rare and precious. He is very cat-social and simply must go to a home that already has other cats - ideally at least one male cat who can become his new best friend and constant companion. A home with only humans would leave him missing that deep feline connection he so clearly needs and adores.

Since leaving the shelter, Silas has flourished in every possible way. He has blossomed into a confident, affectionate, and deeply content little cat who greets each day with quiet joy. He is playful in short, sweet bursts, endlessly affectionate, and completely at ease in his foster home. Watching him go from a stressed shelter cat to this happy, thriving boy has been one of the most rewarding transformations we have seen.

Silas is now ready - truly ready - for his forever home. He has done all the hard work of settling in and opening his heart. All that is left is to find the special family who will continue to love him the way he deserves.

Silas is approximately 5 months old, has been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and is located with his amazing foster mum in Ballarat.

About Us

Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.

Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.

Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.

As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.

All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.

Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
