About Silas
Meet Silas, a very handsome little gentleman with a beautiful soft white coat, gentle eyes, and the sweetest face.
Silas came to us from a shelter where he was really struggling. The busy, noisy environment was simply too much for this sensitive boy, so shelter staff reached out for help. Fortunately we had an experienced foster carer nearby who specialises in shy and timid cats and was happy to welcome him.
He has now left that overwhelming place behind and is settling into a quiet, loving foster home where he can begin to feel safe.
We don’t know a great deal about Silas’s early life, but we believe he may have been a colony cat. This means he is already comfortable around other cats and has experience living as part of a feline group. For this reason, we think he would be a wonderful match for a home that already has a confident resident cat looking for a little brother. An existing cat could gently take Silas under their wing, show him the ropes, and help him learn that people (and home life) can be kind and safe. Having a feline friend nearby would give Silas a familiar comfort while he slowly builds trust with his new humans.
Because of his limited previous exposure to people, Silas is still quite reserved and will need time, patience, and a calm, understanding approach.
He is a project cat who will do best with experienced adopters who are happy to let him progress at his own pace. In return, those special people will get to watch a shy little boy gradually find his confidence and blossom into the social, affectionate companion we know he can become.
He is already doing well in foster care, and every day brings small, encouraging signs that he is starting to feel more secure.
Silas is looking for a peaceful home where he can feel safe, preferably with a resident cat who can be his guide and companion.
If you have the experience, patience, and quiet household that this special boy needs, and you’d love the privilege of helping a timid young cat grow into his full, loving potential, we would love to hear from you. Silas is waiting for his special family.
Silas is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and located his amazing foster mum in Ballarat.
About Us
Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.
Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.
Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.
As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.
All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.
Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
How You Can Help

Following and sharing our pages helps us reach more potential adopters and supporters. If we can grow our audience, we’ll be able to generate a small ongoing income to sustain and expand the rescue.
We are always in need of foster carers. If you have a safe, loving temporary home and would like to help us care for a cat on their journey to their forever family, please get in touch. The more foster homes we have, the more cats we can save.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about Urban Feline Australia.

Adoption details
We try to make things very easy and straight forward while at the same time making sure we are matching the right cat to the right home.
The first step in the adoption process is a quick chat over the phone to make you are able meet the cats needs and your home is a good fit for the cats personality.
From there we will organize a meet and greet the cats foster home where you will be able to see the cat in action and get a gauge of their personality.
Once you have adopted you new furry feline friend we offer ongoing support and you are welcome to contact us anytime if you have questions, concerns or need advice.
We work hard to make sure that each cat is a good fit for their new home but in the unlikely even that things do not work out we have a 21 day cooling off period and you are more than welcome to return the cat to us during that time.
We will happily refund 50% of the adoption fee or you are welcome to donate this refund to assist with the ongoing cost of the animals care.
