About Koba - 1.5 Year Old American Staffy X Kelpie
Meet Koba
1.5 years old, American Staffy cross Kelpie
Koba is the kind of dog who wants to be wherever you are. He is a gorgeous young boy with a big personality and an even bigger love for his people. His favourite place is right beside you, whether that means following you around the house, curling up on the couch or sneaking into bed for a cuddle.
Koba is incredibly affectionate and can definitely be a little clingy. He loves being involved in whatever you’re doing and would suit a home where someone is around a lot of the time. If you like having a loyal little shadow following you from room to room, Koba could be your perfect match.
He is completely house trained and has never had an accident inside. When it comes to bedtime, Koba is happy sleeping on his own bed or on the couch, but if you let him sleep beside you, he will happily snuggle up and sleep next to you all night.
Koba is also fantastic in the car. After a couple of minutes, he usually settles down and falls straight asleep, making him a great little travel companion.
During the day, Koba is happy spending time outside in a secure yard. He does have a funny habit of wanting to know exactly where his people are, though. If he knows you’re inside, he will happily try opening every door in the house to find you! He is definitely not a dog who wants to be separated from his family for long.
Koba absolutely loves children and enjoys being around people. He hasn’t been around cats in his current environment, so his behaviour with cats is unknown.
When it comes to other dogs, Koba can be a little unpredictable. Sometimes he is completely fine and other times he isn’t comfortable, and it can be difficult to tell which version of Koba you’re going to get. For this reason, any interaction with other dogs needs to be carefully managed, and we feel he may be happiest as the only dog in his new home.
Koba loves his toys, especially his teddies and squeaky toys, and he is very food motivated, which makes him a fun dog to work with. He enjoys playing and being silly, but he also has a wonderful calm and cuddly side once he has had enough fun.
Koba’s ideal home will be with someone who wants a dog who is genuinely part of the family. His people currently work approximately 8am to 3pm and Koba is comfortable with this routine, provided he has a secure outdoor area and then plenty of love and companionship when his people are home.
More than anything, Koba just wants his person. He wants someone to follow around, someone to curl up beside, someone to play with and someone who will give him all the cuddles he could possibly ask for.
If you’re looking for a loving, loyal and slightly cheeky little shadow who will happily become your best mate, Koba could be the boy for you.
