Meet Bessie 🐾

Bessie is quite simply one of the gentlest, most loving dogs you could hope to meet. She can be a little reserved initially, but once she feels safe her happy personality begins to shine — and if you're lucky, you'll even be treated to her wonderfully goofy zoomies.

She is fantastic with people and other dogs and has a particularly beautiful way with women and children. She hasn't been exposed to cats, so we're unable to say how she would go with them.

Bessie thrives on love and affection. If she's ever feeling a little flat, a big pat and a few compliments can be all it takes to put the sparkle straight back into her! She doesn't lick for attention, instead gently pushing her head into you when she'd like some pats.

She's naturally toilet trained, intelligent, calm, and wonderfully adaptable. Bessie has even been spending time at her foster carers workplace - greeting customers and helping with important book-selection duties, proving herself to be an excellent office dog! 😆 She happily matches the energy of her people — quiet day at home, she'll snooze; day out and about, she's ready to join you.

Her favourite toy is her lion teddy, and unlike many dogs, Bessie is gentle enough with her plushies that they actually survive!

Most of all, Bessie is incredibly loyal. Once you're her person, she wants to know where you are and what you're doing at all times — yes, bathroom trips included! 😂

Bessie already has quite the fan club around Broome because people simply fall in love with her when they meet her. Gentle, affectionate, clever, and devoted, this beautiful girl is ready to find someone who will love her every bit as much as she'll love them. 💕🐶

I CAN FLY TO PERTH!

Flying for a few hours is very important for animals in remote locations because it gives us the opportunity to be adopted. Talk to SAFE about flying me to Perth.

4 THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE APPLYING:

1. Time Commitment: Owning a dog is a big responsibility and requires a significant commitment of time and energy. Be sure to consider how much time you can realistically dedicate to caring for a dog and make sure you are prepared to make that commitment.

2. Cost: Owning a dog can be expensive. Make sure to consider the cost of food, medical care, toys, and other supplies. You may also want to think about enrolling your dog in obedience classes or hiring a professional dog walker.

3. Space: Depending on the breed, some dogs require a lot of space. Make sure you have enough room in your home and yard to accommodate a dog before making the decision to adopt.

4. Lifestyle: Think about your current lifestyle and how a dog may fit into it. Consider if you have any restrictions such as travel, work hours, or allergies. Also, think about how owning a dog may affect your social life.

Adoption fee includes vet check, first vaccination*, flea and worm treatment, microchipping and sterilisation at a SAFE approved vet at 6 months of age.

*Puppies may require further vaccination(s) to complete the full vaccination course. This will be at the cost of the new owner and is not included in the adoption fee.
