Winnie

Winnie is a sweet girl who is feeling very scared and unsure right now. The shelter environment can be overwhelming for her, and while she desperately wants to feel safe and loved, she doesn't always know how to ask for it just yet.

But Winnie has a little secret ... she routinely surprises us with just how sweet she can be.

When she feels comfortable, we get beautiful little glimpses of the girl hiding underneath all that nervousness. Those moments remind us that there is so much more to Winnie than the scared cat we sometimes see in her kennel.

Winnie will need a patient and understanding home where she can take her time to settle in and learn that she is safe. She may need some space and quiet when she first arrives, and she may take a little while to show you her true personality.

But we don't want to rush her.

We want Winnie to discover, in her own time, that people can be kind, that she doesn't need to be afraid, and that she is finally somewhere she can relax.

Behind those nervous eyes is a sweet girl who simply wants to feel safe, loved and cared for. And every time Winnie surprises us with a moment of affection or her gentle nature, she reminds us why giving scared cats the chance to find their person matters so much.

Winnie doesn't need someone to change her. She just needs someone willing to wait for her, understand her and let her come out of her shell on her own terms.
