About Hazel
Meet Hazel, a beautiful fluffy female medium-hair cat with a soft, inviting presence and a heart full of affection.
At seven years old she is a confident, gentle, and deeply loving girl who absolutely adores people and thrives on human company.
Hazel has a wonderful personality that shines through in everything she does. She loves pats, catnip, treats, chasing pieces of string, and playing with her toys. She is a big fan of hiding in cardboard boxes and can happily spend ages watching birds through the window, usually accompanied by the most adorable little chirps of frustration. She also enjoys spending time outside in a safe environment.
Very chatty, she likes to tell you all about her day, and when she is really happy she will purr and drool a little. She doesn’t demand constant attention, yet she loves simply being near her people and is happiest when she can keep you company.
Quite independent, she doesn’t need someone home all day as long as she has plenty of toys to keep her entertained and cosy places to curl up for a nap.
Her previous family loved her dearly, but with the arrival of a newborn they became concerned about having a cat around the baby. As a result Hazel spent a lot of time outside, and her mum recognised this wasn’t the ideal life for such a people-oriented girl. Reaching out for help finding her a new home was not a decision made lightly; they simply want her to be loved as much as they love her.
When Hazel arrived in her foster home she was a little shy for a moment, but before long she was rubbing up against her foster family and showing them affection. She clearly appreciated the extra attention and was thoroughly enjoying being around people again.
That quick return to confidence and warmth speaks volumes about how loving and adaptable she is.
Hazel has previously lived with another cat and has always shown a friendly interest in other cats, though she is also perfectly content as an only pet. She is incredibly gentle and patient with children. She has lived with babies and young children and has tolerated enthusiastic handling, including having her tail pulled, without reacting aggressively. Once she gets to know them she becomes very interested in being around kids and makes a calm, loving companion.
From everything we have seen so far, Hazel would be a great fit for almost any household.
Hazel is approximately 7 years old, has been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and located with her amazing foster family in Carlton
If you are looking for a gorgeous, affectionate girl who will keep you company, share her gentle presence, and fill your home with quiet love and the occasional happy drool, Hazel is ready to meet you. Please get in touch if you can offer her the loving new home she deserves.
About Us
Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.
Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.
Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.
As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.
All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.
Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
How You Can Help

We are always in need of foster carers. If you have a safe, loving temporary home and would like to help us care for a cat on their journey to their forever family, please get in touch. The more foster homes we have, the more cats we can save.

Adoption details
We try to make things very easy and straight forward while at the same time making sure we are matching the right cat to the right home.
The first step in the adoption process is a quick chat over the phone to make you are able meet the cats needs and your home is a good fit for the cats personality.
From there we will organize a meet and greet the cats foster home where you will be able to see the cat in action and get a gauge of their personality.
Once you have adopted you new furry feline friend we offer ongoing support and you are welcome to contact us anytime if you have questions, concerns or need advice.
We work hard to make sure that each cat is a good fit for their new home but in the unlikely even that things do not work out we have a 21 day cooling off period and you are more than welcome to return the cat to us during that time.
We will happily refund 50% of the adoption fee or you are welcome to donate this refund to assist with the ongoing cost of the animals care.
