Jonathon

Jonathon is a great companion. Although he is a bit on the older side of life, he is in excellent health and the vet has given him the all clear. He is very good with people and has great manners. He knows basic commands and is good in the house. He loves to lay at your feet in the evening or follow you around the garden during the day. Jonny is great with kids and most other animals. At the moment jonny lives in a family with young children, two other dogs, chooks, sheep and horses. Jonny was an entire male before he came to safe and he still has some of the behaviour you would expect from a dominant male dog. This behaviour is only apparent if another male dog tries to boss him around. He is very responsive to his humans though, so there is never any problems in managing his interactions with other dogs. He walks well on the lead, is great off the lead and comes when he is called – unless he’s too far away and can’t hear you (or maybe he ‘pretends’ he can’t hear!). Sometimes after a big run he is a big wonky on his back legs but he is quickly back on his feet and keeping up with the family. He still has plenty of energy and enthusiasm for life. Jonny needs a loving family who can help him see out his days in comfort. This is a real “companion for life” dog – he looks into your face and you can see the love and dedication this dog has to give to a person.
