About Bear
Bear is the kind of dog who turns heads — a striking black‑and‑tan Rottweiler boy with the solid build, sharp mind, and warm heart that make this breed so loved. At just over a year old, he’s still very much a youngster, full of potential and ready to grow into the magnificent adult he’s destined to be.
His Story
Bear entered care in early June and has spent the last few weeks settling into shelter life while staff get to know him. He previously went by Bruno, but the name Bear suits him — strong, steady, and quietly affectionate.
Bear is very rehearsed in the art of jumping - he will need high, secure fencing with high gates on his new property.
Personality & Temperament
Smart and observant — Rottweilers are famously intelligent, and Bear is no exception.
Eager to bond — He’s at the perfect age to form a deep, lifelong connection with his person.
Steady and confident — His large frame and calm presence make him a dog who feels reassuring to be around.
Young enough to shape — With consistent guidance, Bear will thrive.
Ideal Home
Bear will suit someone who understands working breeds or is willing to learn. He’ll flourish with structure, positive training, and plenty of enrichment. A home where he is included in daily life — not left on the sidelines — will bring out his best.
Why He’s Special
Bear is a blank slate with all the raw ingredients of an exceptional companion: youth, intelligence, loyalty, and that unmistakable Rottie warmth. He’s ready for someone who sees not just the dog he is today, but the incredible dog he will become.
