Pannacotta & Pretzel: Ready for Parole!
Pannacotta and Pretzel are currently serving time in a prison dog training program, but their only offence appears to be being far too adorable!
This girl-and-boy duo have been working closely with their handlers and are making excellent progress. They are learning valuable skills that will help them become confident and well-mannered family dogs, including:
* Sitting and responding to basic obedience cues
* Following hand signals and guided cues
* Walking calmly and under control on the lead
* Toilet training
* Self-control exercises
* Comfortable handling
* Positive social skills
Both puppies have received plenty of socialisation and are doing very well. Their handlers are also preparing individual handover notes so each adopter can continue the training and routines their puppy has already started.
Although Pannacotta and Pretzel are sharing this profile, they are not looking to be adopted together. Each puppy is ready to head off independently and become part of their own loving family.
As they are young dogs, their adopters will need to continue their training with patience, consistency and plenty of positive encouragement. In return, they will gain a clever companion who already has a great head start.
SAFE does not have a shelter you can visit, but that will not stop you from meeting Pannacotta or Pretzel. Simply send in an adoption application and, if the match looks suitable, we can arrange a meet and greet.
Could you be the one to sign Pannacotta or Pretzel’s release papers?

4 THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE APPLYING:
1. Time Commitment: Owning a dog is a big responsibility and requires a significant commitment of time and energy. Be sure to consider how much time you can realistically dedicate to caring for a dog and make sure you are prepared to make that commitment.
2. Cost: Owning a dog can be expensive. Make sure to consider the cost of food, medical care, toys, and other supplies. You may also want to think about enrolling your dog in obedience classes or hiring a professional dog walker.
3. Space: Depending on the breed, some dogs require a lot of space. Make sure you have enough room in your home and yard to accommodate a dog before making the decision to adopt.
4. Lifestyle: Think about your current lifestyle and how a dog may fit into it. Consider if you have any restrictions such as travel, work hours, or allergies. Also, think about how owning a dog may affect your social life.
NOTES:
Adoption fee includes vet check, first vaccination*, flea and worm treatment, microchipping and sterilisation at a SAFE approved vet at 6 months of age.
*Puppies and dogs may require further vaccination(s) to complete the full vaccination course. This will be at the cost of the new owner and is not included in the adoption fee.
