About Pablo
🐾❤️ Meet Pablo — A Little Dachshund With A HUGE Heart ❤️🐾
Pablo is a 3 years and 4 month old Long-haired Miniature Dachshund weighing 9 kgs
If you've ever loved a Dachshund, you'll know they have a very special way of making themselves completely at home in your heart.
They may have short little legs...
But somehow they manage to take up your entire heart, your entire couch and eventually your entire life. 😂❤️
And then there's Pablo.
This handsome long-haired Dachshund is a retired breeding boy who has now finished that chapter of his life and is ready for something he's been waiting for...
His very own human.
❤️ A Little Shy... A LOT of Love
Pablo can be a little timid when meeting new people.
He doesn't rush over to everyone demanding attention.
Instead, he'll take a moment.
He'll watch.
He'll quietly work out who you are and whether you're someone he can trust.
And we think that's perfectly okay.
Because when Pablo decides you're his person...
Something very special happens.
The little nervous boy disappears and the most beautiful, affectionate companion emerges.
He'll follow you from room to room.
He'll want to be wherever you are.
He'll quietly settle beside you.
And once that bond is there, the love he gives you is the kind you can feel right through your whole body. ❤️
It's not a five-minute friendship with Pablo.
It's the kind of connection that grows slowly...
And then suddenly you realise you've got a little Dachshund shadow following you everywhere.
🐾 Your Little Shadow
Pablo loves being near his people.
If you're on the couch...
He's probably nearby.
If you're moving around the house...
He's following.
If you're relaxing...
He's very happy to settle down beside you.
He's affectionate without being demanding and absolutely loves a good belly rub.
And if treats are involved?
Well...
Pablo is suddenly an extremely attentive student. 😂
He's a lovely, obedient boy who already responds well to commands and has good recall.
🛋️ Chill... With Occasional Dachshund Zoomies
Most of the time, Pablo is a calm and quiet little guy.
He enjoys his two daily walks and is currently happily walking around 2km a day.
But every now and then...
The Dachshund batteries kick in.
And you'll get a little burst of zoomies to remind you that underneath that calm exterior is still a playful boy who enjoys life.
He's generally good on lead, although there is one very important exception...
Cats.
If Pablo spots one, his little legs suddenly become considerably faster! 😂
🐶 Doggy Friends
Pablo is happy to live with another dog, provided they are calm and respectful.
He isn't looking for a canine sibling who is constantly in his face, jumping all over him or demanding that he play.
He'd much prefer a dog who understands personal space and is happy to simply coexist, walk together and share the home peacefully.
He would also be perfectly happy as your one and only dog, particularly if his humans are around to keep him company.
🐱 Cats & Little Creatures
Cats are unfortunately a no for Pablo.
He has been cat tested and did not get along with them.
He's also not suitable around small animals and has a particular dislike of plovers!
So his forever home needs to understand that his prey drive means smaller animals aren't going to be his best friends.
🏡 Pablo At Home
Pablo is toilet trained with only the occasional accident.
At night, he sleeps beautifully on his own bed beside his foster carer's bed.
During the day, he'll happily find a comfortable spot on the couch or simply settle wherever his people are.
He's generally quiet, although he'll give you an alert bark when someone arrives at the house before quickly settling again.
He can occasionally bark if left alone for longer periods, which is another reason we'd love to see him with someone who is home more often than not or who can include him in their daily life.
🚗 Adventure Buddy
Pablo travels well in the car, so he's very happy to come along when his humans head out.
And honestly...
That's probably exactly what he'd prefer.
Because Pablo isn't looking for a life where he's left behind all day.
He wants to be part of your life.
🌿 Pablo's Perfect Home
Pablo will thrive with someone who understands that his confidence needs to be built gradually.
He needs a calmer home where people will allow him to approach and settle in his own time.
Someone who won't expect instant cuddles...
But who will understand just how incredibly special it is when Pablo finally chooses to give them his trust.
He would suit someone who is home more often than not, works from home, is retired, or simply enjoys having a little companion beside them throughout the day.
A calm canine friend could be lovely, but Pablo is also perfectly happy to be your one and only.
Most importantly...
He needs his human.
Someone who will be patient enough to let him discover that he's safe.
Someone who will enjoy having a little shadow.
Someone who will appreciate the quiet companionship of a dog who doesn't need to be the centre of attention...
He just wants to be beside you.
And when that bond finally forms?
Prepare yourself.
Because Pablo doesn't just give you his heart...
He gives you every single piece of it. ❤️
🐾 Retired breeding boy ready for his next chapter
❤️ Timid at first, devoted once he trusts
🛋️ Professional couch companion
👣 Qualified human shadow
🦴 Belly-rub enthusiast
🚗 Excellent little travel buddy
🌭 Dachshund determination included at no extra charge!
Pablo isn't looking for just anyone.
He's looking for his person.
And when he finds them, we have a feeling they'll wonder how they ever lived without him. ❤️🐾

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.

INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption - each bio will state if available for adoption - please check before applying.
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
