Adoption information
About Elsie
Elsie is a desexed female Domestic Medium Hair available for adoption in Ipswich (Greater Brisbane, QLD).
Elsie is a warm, easygoing cat who makes herself completely at home wherever she lands. Gentle, social and endlessly affectionate, she's the kind of cat who turns an ordinary afternoon into good company.
She gets on beautifully with other cats, playful and gentle in equal measure. Insects don't stand a chance once she's on the case in the backyard.
A little about Elsie:
🐾 Loves settling into a warm lap for a long, unhurried cuddle
🐾 Built-in bug hunter, forever on patrol for anything that moves in the grass
🐾 Gentle and easygoing with other cats, happy to share the household
🐾 Lets you know she's ready for attention with a soft, deliberate meow
🐾 Happiest with a playmate close by, whether that's a cat or a gentle dog
Elsie's days have a settled rhythm. Mornings start close to her favourite person, and the backyard calls not long after. She'll spend long stretches sunbathing and stalking whatever's rustling through the grass, and she's just as content curled up indoors when the mood takes her.
One of her favourite habits is resting a paw on your lap when she wants company, a small, deliberate request that's hard to say no to.
She's a genuine cuddle bug: she likes to stay close to trusted people and settles happily into being held and stroked. New faces don't faze her either, she's just as ready to welcome a stranger as an old friend, meeting each one with the same easy warmth.
Elsie would flourish in a home where she has a playmate to share her days with. Another cat or a gentle dog gives her the company she clearly enjoys, and having someone to potter around the yard with suits her down to the ground.
Her easygoing nature means she settles well into a range of households, from a lively family to a quieter, attentive one.
Her only care note is a routine dental check coming up, standard for a cat her age and easily managed with a bit of extra chewing at home in the meantime.
Picture a warm afternoon with Elsie sprawled across a sunny patch of grass, tail flicking at every rustle in the garden. Come evening, she'll find her spot on the couch, working her way onto a lap for a long, contented cuddle before settling in for the night.
Elsie is ready for a home with room to explore and someone close by for the quiet moments. A backyard to patrol, a lap to claim, and good company at her side, that's the life she's built for.

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
