Meet Maxamillion (Max)
Maxamillion, or Max for short, is a handsome four year old German Shepherd who is looking for a new home.
Max's owners work long hours, and unfortunately he is not coping well with being left on his own for extended periods. He is a clever and active boy who has learnt to jump the fence and visit the neighbours, so he is looking for a home where he will have more companionship and be an important part of family life.
Max has previously lived with a four year old cat and has been around newborn grandchildren. He is great with children of all ages and gets along well with other large breed dogs.
Max would suit a home where he won't be left alone for long periods and where his new family can provide him with the companionship, time and inclusion he needs.
If you are looking for a loyal German Shepherd companion, have experience with German Shepherds or large breed dogs and can offer Max a loving home where he can truly be part of the family, Max may be the boy for you.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long and is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Max is currently available for adoption in NSW, ACT, Queensland and Victoria. If you're interested in making him a cherished member of your family, you'll need to drive with your loved ones to meet him. Should he, for any reason, not be the perfect fit for your family, you would be responsible for either bringing him back to Sydney or helping us rehome him from your home.

Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
Post Adoption Life: With all dog it is important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these dogs have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours and reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to three months to properly decompress from post-shelter life and a lot of behaviours and quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind and are patient.
