About Benji
❤️ Charlie & Benji ❤️
Bonded Uncle & Nephew • Looking for a Forever Home Together
Charlie and Benji are a very special bonded pair who have been inseparable for six years. Uncle Charlie has been by his nephew Benji’s side since Benji was just 12 weeks old, and their connection is truly heartwarming.
Where one goes, the other follows. Whether it’s eating, drinking, napping or exploring the yard, they are never far apart. If one wakes early and the other isn’t there, they can become worried until they catch sight of their best mate again — particularly Charlie.
🐾 Getting to Know Them
Both boys enjoy walks, Sunday afternoon drives and visiting aged-care facilities. They are good with cats, children and easy-going dogs, and they absolutely love human company, couch cuddles and being close to their people.
Both Charlie and Benji can be reserved when meeting new people. Benji tends to warm up a little sooner, while Charlie needs some extra time and patience to feel comfortable and build trust.
Charlie is a gentle spectator when the other dogs are playing, although he has recently started joining Benji and his foster companions for a game of chase. He can be a little jealous if he feels Benji is receiving more attention, and his carer has been patiently working with him — with clear improvement. Charlie is particularly drawn to adults and, like many cheeky characters, can have a stubborn streak!
Benji is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm. He is a lovely, gentle boy who enjoys the company of children and gentle walks around the yard with his three-year-old little mate. Once he feels comfortable, he will happily join his doggy companions in play. Benji is patient when waiting for attention and can often be found curled up on a chair, quietly taking in everything happening around him.
🏡 What They’re Looking For
Charlie and Benji would love a quiet, loving home where they can continue to feel safe and secure together.
They aren't high-maintenance boys. They simply need a family who will:
❤️ Give them plenty of love and patience
🐾 Allow them time to build trust and confidence
🚗 Take them on walks and regular car rides
🌳 Enjoy outings with them at least twice a week
🛋️ Let them enjoy plenty of couch cuddles
💤 Allow them to sleep with or near their new family
🐶 Most importantly, keep these two best friends together
Charlie and Benji have spent six years side by side. They are each other’s comfort, confidence and best friend.
All they need now is a family willing to give them the time, patience and love they deserve — and in return, they will give you two beautiful companions and a lifetime of loyalty. ❤️🐾
Could you be the forever family these two boys have been waiting for?MEET & GREET
We encourage all adopters to meet their new addition before committing to adoption. This gives you a chance to see if the animal might be a good fit, and if a dog, to also introduce them to your other animals. Just like we don't expect all humans to get along, we expect the same for animals.
ADOPTION AGREEMENT
At CQASI our animals future is paramount and we want to see them put into their forever homes. Every detail on our agreement is used to ensure your home is suitable for a new addition, that you agree to the terms and conditions and we also use some of the info for owner transfer after the adoption trial period (mentioned further down)
HOME/YARD CHECK
All our cats are indoor/outdoor enclosure only so all house checks are done when your feline friend is being dropped off to join your household. If the barking variety is what you are looking at adding to your home then one of our volunteers will contact you to arrange a day/time for a yard check. This is to check your fencing is suitable, see where your new canine will be sleeping and just get a general feel for the home they will be going to. All our adoptions tend to be local, but we have connections all over QLD so are more than happy to consider all serious adoption enquiries. A house/yard check will be done if we can get a local member (if adoption enquiry is not Rockhampton based) to assist.
ADOPTION FEE
Adoption fee is to be paid prior to collecting your new family member. The adoption fee is used to cover the vet work your new addition received. This includes - but is not limited to Desexing, vaccination/s, microchipping, parasite treatment/prevention (heart worm testing for dogs only).
TWO WEEK TRIAL
All our animals have a two week trial period. This gives your new addition time to settle into your family life and to give you a chance to ensure they are exactly what you want. If they are not settling in then we will arrange to take them back into care and you will be refunded the adoption fee. If after the two weeks they are exactly what you wanted then we will send you all their paperwork including sterilisation certificate, vaccination certificate and microchip transfer form.
Our aim is a beautiful goodbye into their new home. We treat any potential adoption with the upmost care as the animals safety and welfare is our number one concern.
