About Ralph STA015523
When Ralph arrived in our care as a stray, he couldn’t tell us anything about the life he’d lived before. His history may be a mystery, but there is one thing we’re becoming increasingly certain of — there’s a real sweetheart hiding underneath all that shyness.
Ralph is a very timid boy who needs time to decide that people are safe. He won’t be the cat who confidently walks up to say hello when you first meet him, and moving into a new home will be a big adjustment. What Ralph needs is someone who can look beyond those first nervous moments and see the beautiful potential underneath.
As he gets to know you, little glimpses of the real Ralph begin to appear. He starts to enjoy your company, welcomes attention and discovers that pats are actually pretty wonderful. Every little step forward is a sign that his trust is growing.
Ralph’s perfect home will be quiet, calm and predictable, without children or dogs. He needs a patient person who won’t rush him or expect too much too soon. Give him his own safe spaces, allow him to approach when he’s ready and, most importantly, give him plenty of time to understand that he is finally somewhere he can feel safe and loved.
Ralph is also FIV positive, so he is looking for a strictly indoor-only home where he can enjoy a safe and comfortable life.
This gentle boy isn’t looking for someone who expects an instant best friend. He’s looking for someone willing to earn that friendship.

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
