About Rizzo
Meet Rizzo!
Rizzo is an active, social girl looking for a family that will allow her indoors and include her in their everyday activities. She enjoys being around people and loves leaning in for pats and affection.
Rizzo can forget her manners and become jumpy and overaroused at times. She will benefit from clear, consistent training in the home, including reinforcing "four paws on the floor" behaviours. Mat or crate training would also be beneficial, providing her with a quiet area for downtime and helping her feel safe and secure.
She is not overly interested in toys but absolutely loves her food, often heading straight for the snuffle mat. We recommend feeding her meals through enrichment items such as milk bottles, Kongs, Kong Wobblers, snuffle mats, snuffle boxes and egg cartons. This will provide valuable mental stimulation, encourage natural foraging behaviours, make her meals last longer and can also be used as a distraction when she is feeling overly excited, such as when visitors arrive or during her afternoon zoomie time.
Rizzo would be best suited to a home with older, calm children or teenagers. She is going to need a quieter home environment with structure, routine and consistent expectations to help her thrive.
Rizzo must meet any resident dogs at the time of adoption. During her interactions with other dogs in the shelter, she was social and appropriate, happily approaching and interacting with them while also being comfortable giving them space when needed.
