About Dumpling
Meet Dumpling – the ultimate snugglebug looking for her forever lap.
Dumpling is a beautiful grey-and-white female with a heart as soft as her name.
She came from the same Ballarat shelter as some of our other girls, where the staff absolutely adored her. They couldn’t get enough of her smoochy, affectionate nature and were genuinely sad to see her leave – but the busy shelter environment was simply too much for this little people-cat.
The moment she stepped into her foster home she melted into it, showering her foster dad with head boops, deep purrs and constant cuddles from day one.
This girl is ridiculously affectionate. She is a true people cat who lives for human company. Dumpling wants to be with you all the time – following you from room to room, hopping onto your lap the second you sit down, pressing her face into yours for more kisses, and inserting herself into whatever you’re doing.
She is needy in the very best way: a soft, loving lap-cat who thrives on closeness and will happily spend hours curled against you, purring like a little engine. Staff described her as “very sweet and smoochy once she knows you,” and her foster home has confirmed it a thousand times over. If you want a cat who makes you feel like the centre of the universe, Dumpling is your girl.
She can show a little sassy-queen side if you try to force her into something (like being picked up when she’s not in the mood), but she’s easy to read and simply prefers to do things on her own schedule. That said, her schedule mostly revolves around being near her person and soaking up love. She also loves toys and will happily play when the mood strikes.
Dumpling does not like other cats. She needs to be the sole feline queen of her castle – no sharing required.
An experienced or first-time cat owner who can give her undivided attention will suit her perfectly. A retiree (or anyone with a quieter lifestyle) who dreams of a devoted lap-cat to keep them company would be an absolute dream match for this affectionate little lady.
Dumping is approximately 4 years old, has been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and is located with her amazing foster dad in Kensington.
If you’re ready for a cat who will fill your home (and your lap) with endless head-boops, purrs and pure, unfiltered love, Dumpling is waiting to claim her throne. Please enquire if you can offer this smoochy girl the one-cat, people-focused home she deserves.
About Us
Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.
Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.
Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.
As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.
All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.
Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
How You Can Help
As a small, independent rescue, we depend entirely on the kindness and generosity of our supporters and animal lovers like you. We are always in need of foster carers. If you have a safe, loving temporary home and would like to help us care for a cat on their journey to their forever family, please get in touch. The more foster homes we have, the more cats we can save.

Adoption details
We try to make things very easy and straight forward while at the same time making sure we are matching the right cat to the right home.
The first step in the adoption process is a quick chat over the phone to make you are able meet the cats needs and your home is a good fit for the cats personality.
From there we will organize a meet and greet the cats foster home where you will be able to see the cat in action and get a gauge of their personality.
Once you have adopted you new furry feline friend we offer ongoing support and you are welcome to contact us anytime if you have questions, concerns or need advice.
We work hard to make sure that each cat is a good fit for their new home but in the unlikely even that things do not work out we have a 21 day cooling off period and you are more than welcome to return the cat to us during that time.
We will happily refund 50% of the adoption fee or you are welcome to donate this refund to assist with the ongoing cost of the animals care.
