About Jazzy
Meet Jazzy – a beautiful 1.5-year-old sassy tortoiseshell ready to blossom and who has all the classic “tortitude” you could hope for.
She arrived at the Ballarat animal shelter back in December and, while the busy environment wasn’t ideal for a girl like her, the dedicated staff recognized she needed a quieter path forward. They reached out, and we were fortunate enough to have her surrendered into our care so she can find the right forever home.
Jazzy is a behavioural cat, timid yet zesty, shy at first but capable of deep affection once she decides you’re worth her time. Her love is very much on her own terms (as any true tortoiseshell will tell you!), and it takes patience and consistency to earn her trust. When she’s scared she can be defensive and will not hesitate to swipe or tell you firmly to give her space. But a couple of the shelter staff members were able to discover the soft, interactive side of her, and she rewards those she trusts with lovely moments.
She comes alive at night, emerging to play with toys, and she absolutely adores meal times. She thrives around other confident cats – especially males – and has done best when she has a gentle, self-assured boy to show her the ropes. Her previous feline friends have since been adopted, and a recent stint sharing space with a bullying female sent her confidence backwards. She needs that steady male companion again to help her feel safe and settle.
The ideal home for Jazzy is with an experienced cat owner who can offer time, quiet space, and zero pressure. A household that already has a calm, confident male cat is essential – someone who can take her under his wing and help her explore her new world at her own pace. She is not suited to a busy, high-traffic home or to first-time cat owners.
Whoever is lucky enough to adopt this little lady is in for something truly special.
When Jazzy finally feels safe enough to blossom, her personality shines – affectionate on her terms, playful, and full of that unique tortoiseshell spark. She has so much love to give once the trust is there.
Jazzy is approximately 1.5 years old, has been desexed, microchipped and vaccinated, and is located in Flemington with her amazing foster dad.
If you have the experience, the patience, and a kind male cat ready to be her guide, Jazzy could be the missing piece of your home. Please enquire if you believe you can give this remarkable girl the chance she deserves.
About Us
Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.
Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.
Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.
As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.
All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.
Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
How You Can Help

We are always in need of foster carers. If you have a safe, loving temporary home and would like to help us care for a cat on their journey to their forever family, please get in touch. The more foster homes we have, the more cats we can save.

Adoption details
We try to make things very easy and straight forward while at the same time making sure we are matching the right cat to the right home.
The first step in the adoption process is a quick chat over the phone to make you are able meet the cats needs and your home is a good fit for the cats personality.
From there we will organize a meet and greet the cats foster home where you will be able to see the cat in action and get a gauge of their personality.
Once you have adopted you new furry feline friend we offer ongoing support and you are welcome to contact us anytime if you have questions, concerns or need advice.
We work hard to make sure that each cat is a good fit for their new home but in the unlikely even that things do not work out we have a 21 day cooling off period and you are more than welcome to return the cat to us during that time.
We will happily refund 50% of the adoption fee or you are welcome to donate this refund to assist with the ongoing cost of the animals care.
