About Duke and Mack
Duke and Mack are friendly to everyone they meet, they love, going for walks, racing around, playing with each other, and toys that squeak. They are the happiest when they are sitting on the couch with their people, snuggling under the bed covers, resting in front of the wood heater and just hanging out with their people. The only thing is Mack will get grumpy if you try and pick him up or move him while he is comfy.
They will meet new people with enthusiasm and before long they will be their best friends. They both love to play with kids, but due to Mack not wanting to be picked up or moved, a home with no kids under 12 would be needed.
Duke and Mack like the company of similar sized dogs, but need slow introductions. It doesn’t take long before they are playing. Car trips are enjoyed and they will travel in a small crate or secured on the back seat.
They enjoy going for walks on lead. When they see other dogs they want to play with them and can bark if they get excited. They feel comfortable when they know your routine and with a reminder they will take treats gently from your hand. They will use a doggy door to go outside to toilet but may need reminders in a new home after a sleep or after they have eaten. While they transition into a new home ,belly bands (doggy nappies) can be used until they know the routine and where to go to the toilet.
These boys will happily sleep the night in a crate together or in their person's bed, during the day they will have a nap in a doggy bed in a warm place.
Duke is a cuddly boy, full of confidence, very chilled, and happy to please.
Mack can sometimes be a little unsure, but with a few kind words and pats and he is reassured. Mack prefers not to be picked up and will growl if he is, but once he knows you he will tolerate it with reassurance. It is best to call him off furniture instead of picking him up whenever possible. Some doggy steps or a ramp would be useful to make it easy for him to get down.
Both boys are adorable, cuddly, well behaved. The boys bond quickly with their person. They fret when separated from each other, eg: if one is left outside the other will cry until they are together again. You will always find them snuggled together.

Adoption details
Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis. We assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animals needs.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home, please send us a detailed email with some information about the people and any other animals in your home, as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet.
We are volunteers who run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require you to travel to meet the animal you are looking to adopt. For dog adoptions, any other dogs in your home must attend the meet and greet, this enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
We reserve the right to refuse the adoption if we don't believe it's a good match for our animals.
All our animals are available for a fully refundable 2 week trial period. If you ever find yourself unable to care for, or keep your pet, please contact us and they will come back into our care, or we will do our best to assist you in finding them a suitable new home, this is a condition that you agree to when signing our Adoption Agreement.
