Meet Calbert, the sweetest little man, weighing in at around 2.7kg. This cute, loyal young man has the biggest heart and is looking for a calm, safe and loving home new home, where he can continue to thrive.

Calbert came into rescue after being part of a backyard breeding seizure, so he hasn’t had the easiest start life. Despite this, he is a bright, happy, cheeky little chap who is learning to feel safe, loved and is really enjoying being part of his foster family. Even though Calbert started off being terrified by the world, he has always had a natural curiosity and with increased exposure to lots of experiences, he has come a long way already, especially in the home. When he feels safe, he is a cheeky, hilarious and affectionate little gremlin. His forever home would ideally be with at least one other, confident (smallish sized) dog, who also loves to play, and where you are around, more often than not.

Calbert has a nice amount of energy and loves to chase toys and balls; he also loves to pick them up or drag them to his favorite spot (even when they are the same size has him). He is such a big smooch, and loves nothing more than to cuddle up into your neck and sleep while watching TV together. Calbert happily sleeps through the night in his crate, and also chills out, while his foster Mum works from home.

Calbert is slowly getting better on a harness and lead, and getting much better with his house training, but will still need consistent training with both. Calbert is not a barker, the only time his foster Mum has heard him bark is while playing with a friend, and in sheer enjoyment.
