About Doug 💙
Doug is a sweet, gentle and cuddly boy with the loveliest nature. He adores being close to his people without needing to be right in the middle of everything — he’s perfectly content simply hanging out nearby and keeping you company.
When Doug decides it’s time for affection, he has a particularly adorable way of asking: he’ll do his signature little forward roll, flop onto his back and wait for the belly rubs to begin.
He’s a beautiful balance of gentle and playful. Doug loves his toys, racing through tunnels and having a good play session. He has been tested with a friendly resident dog and has done wonderfully, happily playing and interacting with his canine foster sibling. With appropriate introductions, he could be a lovely match for a home with a friendly, cat-social dog.
Doug and Dale share a special bond and spend plenty of their time playing, exploring and snoozing together. While they can be adopted separately, Doug and Dale are also available for adoption together as a pair.
Whether he heads to his forever home alongside Dale, joins a family with a friendly resident dog or cat, or becomes someone’s much-loved solo companion, Doug will make a wonderfully affectionate, easy-going addition to the family.

Adoption details
All animals adopted through Out of the Woods Rescue are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea/worm treated and health-checked. We aim to match each animal with a home that suits their needs and personality.
Here’s how our adoption process works:
Submit an application – This helps us get to know you, your household and what you're looking for in a pet.
Phone chat – If your application looks like a potential fit, one of our team members will contact you for a casual phone conversation to answer questions and discuss the animal in more detail.
Meet and greet – You’ll meet the animal in their foster home or another agreed location. If everyone agrees it’s a good match, we can proceed to adoption.
Adoption paperwork and payment – Our adoption fees cover desexing, microchipping, vaccination and parasite treatment.
Once adopted, the animal becomes part of your family. We're still here for post-adoption support if you ever need any help.
We’re committed to ethical adoptions and reserve the right to decline applications if we feel the match isn’t in the best interest of the animal.
