Meet Rupert (aka Roo) 🤎

If you’ve ever wanted a puppy who’s equal parts tough farm dog and oversized cuddle bug, Roo might just be your perfect match.

Roo is a purebred koolie, the biggest of the litter, but don’t let his size fool you, he is the biggest sook! His favourite place is in your arms, on your lap, or curled up beside you. He lives by the motto of “I’m just a baby” and will happily soak up every cuddle, pat and bit of affection you have to give.

But while Roo loves his cuddles, we’d really love to see him go to an active home where he has a job to do. 🤎

Roo has shown some beautiful natural stock instincts and absolutely loves having something to focus on. He’s shown confidence gathering and heading cattle, has a natural heel, and recalls off stock beautifully when called. With the right guidance and someone willing to continue developing his abilities, we think Roo has the potential to make a fantastic working or sporting dog.

Whether that job is stockwork, agility, obedience, scent work, dog sports, farm work or simply being your adventure buddy, we’d love for Roo to have a home that will keep his clever little brain and active body busy.

But don’t mistake “active” for “full speed ahead 24/7.” Roo has a fantastic off switch for a puppy his age. He’s happy to get out and work, play and explore, but he’s equally happy to have a quiet day at home. He is respectful of your space, settles well and doesn’t need constant entertainment. Give him something to do and he’s keen; tell him it’s a chill day and he’s more than happy to curl up and relax. 🥰

Over the past few weeks Roo has absolutely blossomed. He is incredibly eager to learn, loves to please his people, and is an absolute dream to train. He’s already:

🐾 Sitting on cue
🐾 Coming when called with great recall
🐾 Walking beautifully on lead and off lead
🐾 Crate trained
🐾 Toilet trained

Roo gets along beautifully with other dogs and would ideally have a doggy mate in his new home but it is not a requirement.

He could be an amazing farm dog, stock dog, dog sport competitor, adventure companion or simply a very loved and very busy member of the family. What matters most to us is that his new family is willing to keep him learning, active and involved, while also appreciating that sometimes the best job of all is putting your feet up and having a snooze. 🤎
