Meet Tom Collins🐾

Tom Collins is a beautiful and gentle merle and white purebred Koolie (papers included) looking for the right person to help him become the confident, adventure-ready dog he has the potential to be.

Tom Collins gets on brilliantly with other dogs and would be very happy with a doggy friend or being your one and only. He's crate trained, walks nicely on lead, and we're actively working on his recall using a long line - he's making great progress. He loves practicing agility with his foster brother and is food motivated.

Like many working breeds, Tom Collins is smart, capable, and needs a job to do. He can be left alone for up to 8 hours, but only once he's had a proper outlet for his energy beforehand - a tired Koolie is a settled Koolie. Tom Collins loves long walks on his long lead where he can sniff and run to his hearts content. Tom Collins will not be adopted to a home where doggy parks are considered fulfilment - he is a working dog that needs some mental stimulation and boundaries. Preference will be given to families who are willing to commit to formal training with Tom Collins to build your relationship.

Tom Collins is looking for someone with genuine working breed experience who understands what dogs like him need, and a home that will continue his training and keep up consistent, fair boundaries. He'll need patience and time to help him learn that the world isn't something to be scared of. We suspect Tom Collins may have been let down by a man in his past, so he does best in a female-led household, but he will be considered for the right man who is willing to be patient with him. Most of all, he's looking for a family who wants to bring him along on their adventures, not just leave him in the yard as he deserves lot of love.

Tom Collins absolutely loves curling up at your feet while you work from home, or laying on his bed while you watch TV. Tom Collins needs a human to continue some boundaries and show him some leadership while he settles in his new home.

Tom Collins has been around children of all sizes and is very appropriate. However, he is nervous when his collar is being held and can get extremely scared so his foster mammy believes he will do better with children who will give him space and allow him to integrate into his family at his own pace. Due to this, families with small children will not be able to be considered at this stage.
