About Isla - 5 Year Old Groodle
Are you the unicorn Isla needs?
Isla is a very sweet but timid girl who is looking for her forever home with someone who can give her lots of time, patience, love and understanding.
She will find her person to attach to and follow them around the house but is also comfortable to hang on her own in her safe spot/s. She is happy enough with her carer's dog, but is scared of boisterous play and loud noises. For this reason, she is best suited to a calm, quiet home where someone is home most of the time. Any resident dogs will need to be very laid back.
She has been in a household with an older child and has been a little reactive (resource guarding her person) but has responded to positive reinforcement. She is on anxiety medication which will likely need to continue for some months. This is easily crushed in her food and she has not been at all put off eating!
Isla is not fond of the harness but by necessity has learned to cope with it for car rides and walks. She does not pull on the lead but does need to be coaxed out of the house. She has learned to use the doggy door and has not had any accidents since her first few weeks in care.

Isla is currently in foster care in Charlestown, NSW, and is not available for adoption interstate. She is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, treated for fleas, ticks & worms and lifetime registered. Adoption fee is $700.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:

(2) If the questionnaire is approved, we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've applied for.
(3) Next, we will arrange for you to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or at a nearby park.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay the adoption fee*, sign the NSW change of ownership form and our DRN Adoption Agreement and take your new family member home! The two week trial period begins on the day of adoption.
*We prefer payment by funds transfer and don't accept cash or personal cheques.
