About Kimba
Kimba just loves being with his people and will follow them around whether that is outside while they garden or inside on the couch trying his hardest to be a lap dog. Kimba also loves going for a walk, chasing the ball (but not so great at bringing it back), and playing with his plushies.
Kimba is happy to meet new people but since he has been in foster care he hasn’t been around children. He can get excited (especially when he knows he’s going for a walk or when his humans arrive home!) so is not suited to a home with primary age children.
He’s great with other dogs; he has not demonstrated any reactive behaviours towards barking dogs. Kimba will walk away from other dogs if he doesn’t want to interact with them.
Kimba just loves car rides but he can get a bit over excited while in the car. He used to bark constantly, however now this is only now and again when the excitement gets too much for him, and this is brought into line with a firm ‘no’.
Prior to coming into our care Kimba had no experience with wearing a lead and collar, but he now loves going for walks. He can pull a bit especially at the beginning of the walk and he will need continued training to walk well on the lead.
Kimba toilets appropriately outside and will sleep the whole night inside. During the day Kimba will be wherever you are if you are at home, but will happily find a nice spot to nap if you are out.
Kimba is first and foremost incredibly loving. If there’s a human out there looking for a companion, they would never feel lonely in Kimba’s presence. Kimba would easily receive pats all day long if he could!
Environmental loud noises like storms and outside noises don’t worry Kimba however, raised voices inside can make him feel a little unsure.
Kimba can be very excitable and jumpy.
Kimba requires the following in his new home
- His people home often or another desexed dog in the home.
- To go for daily walks and played with.
- Continued training with being calm, walking on lead and travelling in the car.
- A home with no primary aged children.
- A securely fenced yard.

Adoption details
Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis. We assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animals needs.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home, please send us a detailed email with some information about the people and any other animals in your home, as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet.
We are volunteers who run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require you to travel to meet the animal you are looking to adopt. For dog adoptions, any other dogs in your home must attend the meet and greet, this enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
We reserve the right to refuse the adoption if we don't believe it's a good match for our animals.
All our animals are available for a fully refundable 2 week trial period. If you ever find yourself unable to care for, or keep your pet, please contact us and they will come back into our care, or we will do our best to assist you in finding them a suitable new home, this is a condition that you agree to when signing our Adoption Agreement.
