Kimba

**Energetic and loving, Kimba is a big-hearted goofball looking for humans who enjoy an active life as much as he does.**

Walks are quite possibly Kimba’s favourite thing in the world. When he first came into foster care, he had no experience wearing a collar or walking on a lead. Fast forward a couple of months and he now happily wears his collar and harness, and gets very excited when the lead comes out! He can still pull, particularly at the beginning of a walk, so he’ll benefit from continued lead training.

Kimba also loves the dog park, where he enjoys the freedom to trot around, explore and play with other dogs, while regularly checking back in with his humans. He gets along well with other dogs and generally chooses to walk away if he doesn’t want to interact.

Exercise is important for this high-energy boy. Give Kimba a good outlet for that energy and he’s equally happy to settle in for pats and a snuggle on the couch in the evening. He also loves playing with his squeaky toys, tennis ball and plushies.

Kimba is very affectionate and loves being around his people, but he doesn’t need to be attached to your hip. He’ll happily snooze in the sunshine outside and has been comfortable spending the day alone while his foster carers are at work. He’s also generally a quiet boy and rarely barks around the home. At night he sleeps soundly inside and is fully house-trained, with no accidents in his foster home.

Kimba LOVES going for a drive and enthusiastically jumps straight into the car. Travelling is still very exciting and, while his car barking has improved enormously, the occasional bark does escape when excitement gets the better of him.

Kimba is food motivated and keen to learn. He can still get bouncy when something exciting happens, particularly when his humans come home, his dinner arrives or that magical lead appears, although he tends to jump excitedly nearby rather than onto people. For this reason, he isn’t suited to a home with primary-aged children.

Kimba has made fantastic progress during his time in foster care. He now needs an active home that will continue his training and give him plenty of exercise, affection and adventures.

Environmental loud noises like storms and outside noises don’t worry Kimba however, raised voices inside can make him feel a little unsure.
Kimba can be very excitable and jumpy.

* Daily walks, exercise and play

* His people home often or another desexed dog in the home.
* A securely fenced yard.
