I'm a gorgeous 5 year and 2 months old Chonzer - [Mini Schnauzer x Bichon Frise] who came into care through no fault of my own. Sometimes life changes for families, and unfortunately, that meant I needed to find a new chapter.
And while I may be a little vocal about what's happening around me, underneath my impressive security system is a sweet, playful and affectionate little girl who loves being part of her family's life. ❤
🧸 What makes Lexi happy?
I LOVE my squeaky chickens, playing with my toys, going for walks and, once I've finished all my important activities, curling up on the couch for a good cuddle.
I'm toilet trained, can use a doggy door and I'm great on lead.
I'm a medium-energy girl who enjoys getting out and about but am also very happy relaxing at home with my people.
🐶 What about other dogs?
my previous family advised that i like dogs, but my foster mum has said that it's a bit hard to meet new dogs - due to me - well mainly due to my overly enthusiastic reaction when I first see them, particularly when we're out walking, and I may have plenty to say. This can scare off other dogs or overwhelm them.
But that's okay cause i am very happy being an only dog and having my humans attention - in fact i would probably prefer any only dog home 😂
I've also been cat tested and my response was basically...
"Can we play?!" 🐱😂
I do show interest in birds and will bark at them from the deck, so my new family will need to understand that I have a little bit of a busy personality.
👧 What about kids?
I love kids and have been comfortable around children aged 6 and over, particularly those who understand dogs.
When I get super excited, I can become a little claiming of my people and attention, so I’ll need a family who understands my personality and can gently guide me when I get a little too enthusiastic.
I’m not being naughty — I just sometimes think my humans are mine and everyone else can wait their turn! 😂
Dog-savvy children and gentle, respectful interactions will be important for me.
❤ And people?
Now this is where things get a little interesting.
When someone new arrives, I can be VERY vocal.
I'll bark like mad while I work out exactly who you've brought into my house!
Once I decide you're okay, though, I'm a much happier girl.
I'm generally more comfortable with females and can be more anxious around males, so I need patient people who will give me the time and space to build trust rather than expecting me to immediately become their best friend.
Once I've decided you're one of my people...
You're one of MY people. ❤
🏡 What does Lexi need?
Lexi needs a family who understands that her barking is part of her personality but is also willing to continue helping her learn when her security services are actually required. 😂
She needs patience, consistency and people who won't rush her when she's unsure.
In return, you'll get a fun, active, affectionate little girl who loves walks, toys, cuddles and being involved in whatever her humans are doing.

Lexi isn't perfect — but she's perfectly Lexi.
She's a funny, clever, loving little girl with plenty of personality, and she's looking for someone who will understand her quirks, give her time to settle and love her for the wonderfully entertaining girl she is. 🐾💕

- Your current dogs vaccinations up-to-date and have a copy of the certificate to send thru (please contact your vet asap if you don't have a copy)
- Your dog can travel to the carers location
- You are available to attend the meet and greet within the next 7 days

Adoption details
Paw Prints Canine Rescue is a non for profit dog rescue located in Southeast Queensland.
All our dogs leave our care with full vet work (up-to-date vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, heart worm and intestinal wormed and flea treated).
Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.
Please note - we are not a pound or have kennels - all our dogs stay in foster carers homes and therefore dogs are not able to be simply viewed - only approved applicants will meet the dogs.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption - each bio will state if available for adoption - please check before applying.
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
